Patrick Page to Star in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Broadway veteran Patrick Page will play 'The Grinch' in the upcoming musical version of the popular Dr. Seuss fable How the Grinch Stole Christmas!- the Musical. The classic holiday story will begin previews October 25th and open on November 8th at the Hilton Theatre (213 West 42nd Street). Page is currently starring on Broadway as 'Scar' in Disney's The Lion King.  His other Broadway credits include 'Decius Brutus' opposite Denzel Washington in last season's Julius Caesar, and over a thousand performances as 'Lumiere' in Beauty and the Beast.  Page is also a prominent classical actor.  This season he received Washington's Helen Hayes Award for his 'Iago' opposite Avery Brooks' Othello at The Shakespeare Theatre Company, where he also played the title role of Macbeth opposite Kelly McGillis. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was originally presented at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre under the direction of Jack O'Brien.  It has played to critical acclaim and sold out houses for the past 8 years.  Matt August will direct the enhanced NY production.   Timothy Mason wrote the book and lyrics and Mel Marvin is composer, with choreography by John DeLuca, sets by John Lee Beatty, lighting by Pat Collins, and puppetry by Michael Curry.   Running Subway Productions is Producer with Live Nation as Associate Producer along with Dr. Seuss' widow, Audrey Geisel.
