According to the official spokesperson for Rent, original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will return to the Broadway production of Rent this summer. They will once again play the roles of Roger and Mark, respectively, for six weeks from July 30th through September 9th.
Pascal earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for originating the role of Roger in Rent. He won a Drama League Award for his performance as Radames in Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida and was also seen as the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Cabaret. A rock singer who has fronted bands since the age of 12, Pascal has also released two albums of original rock music, "Model Prisoner" and "Civilian," both on Sh-K- Boom Records. On screen, he has also been seen in School of Rock and SLC Punk!, as well as the film version of Rent. He will next play B.B. King's on May 9th, and appears in the upcoming film American Primitive.
Rapp, in addition to Rent on Broadway, tour and film, has also appeared on Broadway in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Six Degrees of Separation and Precious Sons (for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination). His film credits include A Beautiful Mind, Twister, Dazed and Confused, Six Degrees of Separation and Adventures in Babysitting.
