"PARTNERS", a new comedy by award-winning playwright Allan Katz, directed by Zane Buzby and starring Alan Rosenberg, has broken box office records and played to standing ovations at its world premiere engagement at Wilmington's Delaware Theatre Company.
"PARTNERS" is the smart, funny and tender story of two guys, best friends and business partners, and how their relationship is turned upside-down when one leaves for a brief vacation and returns two years later -- as a woman.
Allan Katz's body of work, for which he has received multiple Emmy nominations, the Humanitas Prize nomination, The Peabody Award, and The Nancy Susan Reynolds Award, includes writing and producing such television classics as M*A*S*H and Roseanne. Katz's hit Off-Broadway musical, Song of Singapore, received the Outer Circle Critics Award.
Zane Buzby has directed theatre and produced and directed over 180 episodes of network television including Golden Girls, Newhart, Married With Children, and the feature film Last Resort starring Charles Grodin.
Alan Rosenberg has received an Emmy Award nomination for ER, and is best known for his starring roles in The Guardian, LA LAW, Civil Wars and Cybill. Rosenberg's Broadway credits include Lost In Yonkers, What's Wrong With This Picture, and A Prayer for my Daughter.
PARTNERS, originally scheduled for a limited run, has been extended through October 10th, with plans to take it to Broadway.
