Heather Parcells, who currently plays Judy Turner in Broadway's A Chorus Line, will play the young debutante ingénue, Sara Westwood, in NYMF's Jungle Queen Debutante. Joining her as the Jungle Queen is Little Women's Amy McAlexander.
Jungle Queen Debutante will be presented as part of NYMF's Partner Events Series with co-producer, Hell's Kitchen Musicals.
"Take one ingénue following her heart, mix in an archeologist who can't quite remember who he is, an elocution mistress with a secret, and a suave ambassador. Add a lovelorn jungle chanteuse, a mobster with nefarious plans and the wickedest woman in the Lost City for this cocktail of an adventure musical with a big Broadway sound...The show is a zany valentine to the big MGM musicals," describe press notes.
Parcells and McAlexander will be joined by Donna English (Ruthless, Forbidden Broadway), Paul Amodeo (Dirty Blond), Deborah Tranelli (TV's "Dallas"), James Walsh, Ian August, Kristen Bedard, and Johnny Orenberg.
The creative team includes Sean O'Donnell (book), Thomas Tierney (music & lyrics), Gwen Arment (direction/choreography), Jack Lee (music supervisor), Paul Staroba (music direction), and Fred C. Mann III (production stage manager), Hell's Kitchen Musicals (co-Producers Gwen Arment & Susan Hartley).
Performances are September 26, 27, 28 & 29 at 8PM; September 28 at 3PM; October 3, 4, 5 & 6 at 8PM; and October 5 at 3PM.
Jungle Queen Debutante plays the Times Square Arts Center (Roy Arias Theater, 5th Floor), located at 300 West 43rd Street in Manhattan. For tickets and further information visit www.nymf.org or www.junglequeendebutante.com
