Popular indie rock/pop group Panic! At The Disco is set to be showcased in a new stage musical venture based on their four albums, all-too appropriately titled PANIC! THE MUSICAL, and a new crowd-sourcing page has been launched in support of the upcoming project via fan-funding site Indiegogo.
The official description of the PANIC! THE MUSICAL project is as follows: "PANIC! is a rough-edged new musical based on the songs of the American rock band Panic! At The Disco. PANIC! The Musical tells the story of Andi Witko, a naive teenager on the verge of rebellion after meeting bad boy Oliver Murphy. The musical features songs from all four studio albums, including hits such as: "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies," "Lying is the Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off," "Ready to Go," "This Is Gospel," etc. PANIC! is created and directed by Alexis Acar with book by Christina Rose Sabia, choreography by Evan Lovelace featuring musical arrangements by Brandon Austin, with musical direction by Craig Petrocelli. This production will be stage managed by Brianna Garza. PANIC! is a cinematic whirlwind, which we intend to showcase in its fully-realized form. With the producers' interest we've cultivated, and the outstanding connections we've made, your contributions will facilitate this Workshop, on our way to the ultimate Broadway production!"
