Paige Davis, Donnie Kehr, Aaron Rosen & More Join The 3rd Annual BROADWAY BEE ImageBroadway Bound Kids will host the third annual Broadway Bee on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 7 PM at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). An adults-only spelling bee, Broadway Bee, features actors from hit Broadway shows competing in a hilarious live event while raising funds to provide a wide range of performing arts opportunities for NYC youth. Tickets are now available.

Hosted by the original creators of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Rebecca Feldman and Jay Reiss, the Broadway spellers will include Paige Davis (Chicago), Donnie Kehr (Jersey Boys), Lee Aaron Rosen (Angels in America), Sasha Hutchings (My Fair Lady), Alex Mandell (The Play That Goes Wrong), Damon Gillespie (Rise) and Karl Kenzler (Three Wise Guys). Additional spellers will be announced soon.

At the Broadway Bee ten teams pull out all the stops to correctly spell the words presented. The more funds each team raises, the more lifelines or "cheats" they earn to help them win the coveted trophy at the Bee. The fun is fast, furious, and contagious!

"Kids need a safe community more than ever right now," said Founder Erin Glass. "The arts offer an inclusive place where young people learn to be empathetic while gaining the confidence to use their voices to make positive change in the world. Many of our students become professional artists, and we love that, but we're equally enthusiastic about the students who use their Broadway Bound Kids experience to find their own paths and shine in other roles by simply being the best versions of themselves. Supporting the Broadway Bee will help us further our mission and transform and empower even more young lives."

Tickets for the Broadway Bee range from $35 for standing room through $1,200 for VIP tables (8 tickets). To order your tickets in advance, please visit www.broadwayboundkids.com. Anyone from anywhere can join a team and help fundraise or donate. Anyone who donates or raises

$500 or more through the Bee's virtual fundraising platform will receive a free ticket and prime seating with their team. Donates of any amount will be rewarded with a discount code for tickets.

ABOUT BROADWAY BOUND KIDS
Broadway Bound Kids (est. 2004) is a non-profit arts education organization based in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. Our mission is to be a transformative and inclusive community that inspires and empowers young lives through the performing arts. We know that involvement in the performing arts increases confidence, builds relationships, encourages respect, teaches empathy, and promotes self-expression. These important skills help kids use their voices and unique gifts to make a positive impact in the world. We offer after school programs, Saturday classes, trips to see Broadway shows, summer programs, master classes with Broadway performers, and a free youth theater ensemble called the Broadway Bound Players for students who don't have access to the performing arts.
