Pace University Announces a Literary Competition to Pen the Lost Sequel to Love's Labour's Lost

In celebration of the final week of performances of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost by The Globe Theatre of London, Pace University announces a literary competition to reimagine the "lost" sequel: Love's Labour's Wonne. The only reported printed copy of Love's Labour's Wonne disappeared from London around 1603.

"Let me hear a staff, a stanze, a verse." (Act IV, Scene ii)

Contestants are challenged to create a synopsis of this missing masterpiece (not to exceed 300 words) and accompanied by 8-24 lines of verse, preferably exposition from the opening of the reimagined play.

One Grand Prize winner will receive two (2) tickets to a performance at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre's 2010-2011 season, as well as roundtrip air travel for two (2) from New York City to London.

Entries must be received by 12 noon EST on Friday, December 18th, 2009. Entries will be judged by a panel and the winner will be announced by cast members following the final performance of Love's Labour's Lost on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 8pm.

All entries will become the property of Pace University.
Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
Additional prizes may be awarded in the form of tickets to the
Globe Theatre's production of Love's Labour's Lost at Pace University.

Other than the provision of performance tickets, Shakespeare's Globe has not authorized and takes no responsibility for the competition or its judging,
which is solely a project of the Center for Cultural Affairs at Pace University.
