PS Classics will release the original cast recording of the off-Broadway musical Lone Star Love, a country-tinged musical inspired by Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor, on January 10th.

The 20-track CD will include with a full-color 40-page booklet complete with lyrics and production photographs.  Conceived and adapted by John L. Haber, with music and lyrics by Jack Herrick, and contributions from Michael Bogdanov, Bland Simpson and Tommy Thompson, the show featured the Red Clay Ramblers, "who since 1975 have been melding bluegrass with jazz and rock," according to the label's website.

Lone Star Love, which opened at off-Broadway's John Houseman Theatre on December 8th, 2004 and closed on February 6th, 2005, was
nominated as Outstanding New Musical Off-Broadway by the Outer Critics Circle.  The show also received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination as Outstanding Musical, and Randy Skinner received a nod for his choreography.  Michael Bognadov directed.

PS Classics, headed by Tommy Krasker and Philip Chaffin, is offering its new CD Opposite You for sale online.  A CD of romantic duets sung by married theatre couple Marin Mazzie and Jason Daniely, it features
"sixteen tracks ranging from playful to powerful to richly romantic, and embraces composers from Irving Berlin and Harold Arlen to Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim (the latter in an expansive five-song suite)."  Other recent PS Classics releases include the cast recording of Captain Louie and Sondheim Sings Vol. II.
