PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT's James Brown lll Debuts Fashion Line on Opening Night

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL cast member James Brown III, the Fashion Institute-trained designer behind the fashion line James George III, will debut his new men and women's label in stores and online this Fall.

Inspired by the over 500 fabulous costumes designed by Academy Award winning designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner for the stage musical he is currently appearing in Brown has now designed one-of-a-kind pieces from his made to measure "BROWN" line for himself and other cast members to debut during the Opening Night celebration of Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical this Sunday, March 20 at the Palace Theatre.

In addition to James wearing his own design, PRISCILLA "Divas" Jacqueline B. Arnold and Anastacia McCleskey and cast members Jessica Phillips ("Marion"), Keala Settle ("Shirley") and Kyle Brown will all walk the pink carpet in Brown's designs.

James George Brown III was born on November 3rd, 1980 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Orange County, CA. Growing up, his parents allowed him to explore any and every passion he had including: Psychology, Track & Field, Drama, Football, Gymnastics, Dance, Music, TV/Film, Religious Studies, and of course Fashion. It is because of these varied artistic, academic, and physical genres of study that James George Brown III, as a designer, has drawn inspiration to build James George III. Like many other fashion designers, Brown III draws inspiration from nature, architecture, interior design, classic movies, theater, and cultural anthropology. But having studied psychology at Brown University, Brown III can also use his knowledge of the human condition and self image to design clothes that will allow his consumer to manifest a positive self-image with the aid of beautifully made clothing. James received his industry fashion knowledge from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

James Brown III has also had a successful career in the last 10 years as a Model and Actor. James has modeled for such brands as Ralph Lauren, Michael Wesetly, and Rockport. He's performed in 8 Broadway shows including: Memphis, The 2010 Tony Award Winning Best New Musical, Original Broadway Company of The Little Mermaid (Dance Captain, Understudy Jetsam), Original Broadway Company of The Color Purple (Bobby, Understudy Harpo), Wicked (The Lover), The Producers (O'Houlihan), The Frogs (Dance Captain), and The Lion King (Dance Captain, Understudy Simba). James is currently playing the role of "Jimmy" in Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theater in New York City. Other notable credits: "Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary Concert" (CBS), The Producers Movie, Enchanted, and "The Oprah Winfrey Show." All of these professional artistic experiences have infused themselves in the design of James George III.

Following smash hit productions in Australia, London and Toronto, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The MusicaL began previews on Broadway on February 28.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The MusicaL stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams as the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting road trip of a lifetime who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

Featuring a score of over 20 dance-floor classics, a company of 27, and with a dazzling array of more than 500 outrageous costumes, the spectacular new stage musical is a sensational journey to the heart of fabulous!

Adapted from the Academy Award® winning film "The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert," PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL is written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott. Direction is by Simon Phillips, choreography by Ross Coleman, musical supervision and arrangements by Stephen ‘Spud' Murphy and set design by Brian Thomson. Production supervised by Jerry Mitchell. Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner have re-created their Academy Award® winning costume designs originally designed for the film. Lighting is designed by Nick Schlieper, sound design is by Jonathan Deans and Peter Fitzgerald and make up design is by Cassie Hanlon.
