The Tony Award® winning production of Bette Midler's PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL celebrate its one year anniversary on Broadway and 500,000th audience member worldwide on Tuesday, March 20.
First, join Tony Award® nominated original Australian leading man Tony Sheldon at Australia's most celebraTed Bakery "Pie Face" newly arrived in NYC for the unveiling of the "Priscilla Pink Pie Face Pie" at 1:00pm at the shop's new location on Broadway and 53rd Street.
Later that afternoon, watch renowned pep squad "Cheer New York" debut a special Priscilla cheer at the TKTS Booth in Times Square at 5:00pm - then come see the show that evening, where the 500,000th audience member will receive a surprise on stage.
The musical includes 500 costumes and a hit parade of dance-floor favorites including "It's Raining Men" and "I Will Survive."
PRISCILLA opened on March 20 at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway).
PRISCILLA stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson, Tony Award® nominee Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams as the trio of friends on a road trip who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.
PRISCILLA was awarded a 2011 Tony Award® for Best Costume Design for Academy Award® winners Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner's designs. The new hit musical was also honored with three Best Musical award nominations from the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award organizations. Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon received a Tony Award® nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in addition to Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations, and was awarded the Theatre World Award for outstanding Broadway debut. Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner were also honored with 2011 Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Costume Design.
