With the exciting news this morning of a Best Musical Award nomination from the Drama League, the stars of Broadway's new hit musical PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT are making a royal tour of their own this week with a series of appearances and performances in New York City and on National television.

FAMILY EQUALITY COUNCIL "NIGHT AT THE PIER" HONOR - TONIGHT - MONDAY, APRIL 25
Family Equality Council, America's foremost national advocate for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) families, will honor the company of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL at their annual New York City awards dinner tonight, at which the cast will also perform. The event which honors individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to helping LGBT families, will be held tonight, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Pier 60 in New York. www.familyequality.org/pier

ABC'S "THE VIEW" - TUESDAY, APRIL 26
"The Divine Miss M," producer Bette Midler will present a live performance from Broadway's smash hit on "The View" tomorrow morning, April 26. Ms. Midler will sit down with the ladies of "The View" to talk about the fabulous new show that is taking Broadway by storm. Led by stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams, Priscilla will perform the dance anthem "I Will Survive" on the nationally televised broadcast that airs on ABC between 11:00a and 12:00p (Channel 7 in New York metropolitan area, check local listings).

AUSTRALIAN CONSULATE WELCOME RECEPTION - THURSDAY, APRIL 28
The Australian Consul General Phillip Scanlan will officially welcome original Australian star, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL as an Australian icon to North America while toasting the production's smash hit Broadway debut and saluting Australian culture in the States. The reception will be held at The Australian (20 West 38th Street). The Australian Consulate aims to influence perceptions of Australia, and raise awareness of Asia Pacific issues through its extensive contacts with New York based media and think tanks as well as educational and cultural institutions.

CYNDI LAUPER'S TRUE COLORS FUND GALA - THURSDAY, APRIL 28
PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL's "Divas" will perform at Cyndi Lauper's annual "True Colors Fund" benefit gala at the Renaissance Hotel this Thursday, April 28. The True Colors Fund continues to work with the True Colors Tour to raise money and awareness for LGBT issues. Following hit productions in Australia, London and Toronto, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL opened to critical acclaim on March 20 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway).

The highest grossing new musical that has opened on Broadway this season also topped another chart when the Original Cast Recording of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Broadway Album Chart.

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams as the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting road trip of a lifetime who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

Featuring a score of over 20 dance-floor classics, a company of 27, and with a dazzling array of more than 500 outrageous costumes, the spectacular new stage musical is a sensational journey to the heart of fabulous!

Adapted from the Academy Award® winning film "The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert," PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL is written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott. Direction is by Simon Phillips, choreography by Ross Coleman, musical supervision and arrangements by Stephen ‘Spud' Murphy and set design by Brian Thomson. Production supervised by Jerry Mitchell. Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner have re-created their Academy Award® winning costume designs originally designed for the film. Lighting is designed by Nick Schlieper, sound design is by Jonathan Deans and Peter Fitzgerald and make up design is by Cassie Hanlon.
