PRETTY FILTHY Cast Celebrates Album Release at Feinstein's/54 Below Tonight

The Civilians, Ghostlight Records, and Jon B. Platt celebrate the recent release of the PRETTY FILTHY original cast recording with an unforgettable evening of this groundbreaking show about the "Other Hollywood" at Feinstein's/54 Below tonight, February 21 at 7:00 PM.

Inspired by the tradition of classic show business musicals, PRETTY FILTHY is the untold story based of adult entertainers based on interviews The Civilians did in the San Fernando Valley, the world capital of porn.

This evening will feature songs from PRETTY FILTHY by Michael Friedman and performances by members of the original cast: Alyse Alan Louis, Luba Mason, Steve Rosen, MarRick Smith, Jared Zirilli, Maria-Christina Oliveras, as well as Eric Morris and Harriet Foy.

The PRETTY FILTHY album release event will be performed at Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) tonight, February 21, at 7:00 PM. The Civilians, led by Artistic Director Steve Cosson and Managing Director Jane Jung, creates new theater from creative investigations into the most vital questions of the present. Recent credits include Rimbaud in New York, Another Word for Beauty, Pretty Filthy, Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play, and The Great Immensity. In the 2014-15 season, the company was the first ever theater company in residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Michael Friedman (Music and Lyrics) has worked with The Civilians on Canard Canard Goose, Paris Commune, Gone Missing, Nobody's Lunch, This Beautiful City, In the Footprint, The Great Immensity, Anne Washburn's Mr. Burns and the company's 2012 TED Talk. Music and lyrics for The Fortress of Solitude; Love's Labour's Lost; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; Saved. MacDowell Fellow, Princeton Hodder Fellow, Princeton Barron Professor, artist-in-residence at Spring Workshop Hong Kong. His Tedx talk, "The Song Makes a Space," is on YouTube. An evening of his songs was featured in Lincoln Center's American Songbook. OBIE Award for sustained achievement. He is Artist in Residence and Director of Public Forum at The Public Theater, and the Artistic Director of City Center's Encores! Off-Center.

Bess Wohl's (Book) plays include Small Mouth Sounds (Top ten of 2015 in The New York Times, The Guardian, New York Post, and others), American Hero, Barcelona, Touched, In, Cats Talk Back and the original musical Pretty Filthy, in collaboration with Michael Friedman and The Civilians (Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk nominations for Outstanding Musical). Her work has been produced or developed at Second Stage, Ars Nova, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Geffen Playhouse, People's Light and Theatre Company, The Contemporary American Theater Festival, Vineyard Arts Project, The Pioneer Theatre, The Pittsburgh Public Theater, The Northlight Theater, TheaterWorks New Works Fesitval, Ojai Playwright's Conference, the Cape Cod Theatre Project, PlayPenn and the New York International Fringe Festival (Award for Best Overall Production).

Jon B. Platt (Executive Producer) is a 12 time Tony Award winning Broadway Producer and recipient of the prestigious Robert Whitehead Award for his outstanding achievement in producing. Some of his Broadway credits include: Wicked (Grammy winner); The Humans (Tony winner); A View From the Bridge (Tony winner); The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Tony winner); Skylight (Tony winner); The Book of Mormon (Tony, Grammy winner); Angels in America: Millennium Approaches (Tony, Pulitzer Prize winner) and Perestroika (Tony winner). In addition Mr. Platt has received 11 Drama Desk awards and 9 Outer Critics Circle Awards.
