Possum Creek, which previously played to packed houses (3 sold-out shows) and garnered rave reviews at the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival, will have a limited run at The 2nd Annual Best Of The Fest at The Celebration of Whimsy.

Naive young Civil War bride Beth Ann discovers the joys, heartbreaks and befuddlement of waiting at home for her soldier husband in Possum Creek, Ohio. In a solo show featuring eight characters and spanning 30 years, Possum Creek skewers Civil War epics and the documentaries they inspire, and features illicit loves, plagues, man on man carnality, illegitimate babies, the Underground Railroad, and a miracle!

Possum Creek was written and is performed by award-winning playwright and cult downtown comic, Andrea Alton. Her previous solo show, The F*cking World According To Molly, premiered at the 2011 FringeNYC and went on the play The Laurie Beechman, terraNOVA's soloNOVA Festival and The Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival. Possum Creek was one of 24 plays selected to be a part of the FringeNYC 2015 Collection by Indie Theater Now.

This quirky play is directed by Eric Chase, whose work is regularly seen at The Dysfunctional Theatre Company and Emerging Artists Theatre. Possum Creek is presented in association with Emerging Artists Theatre and is produced by Irwin Kroot, whose previous credits include The F*cking World According To Molly, and numerous productions at The Laurie Beechman Theatre and off-off Broadway with Kaleidoscope Theatre Company.

The creative team includes costume & properties design by Anthony Catanzaro (The F*cking World According To Molly/FringeNYC), lighting design by G. Ben Swope (Urban Momfare/FringeNYC), sound design by Justin Plowman (The Dysfunctional Theatre Company), dramaturgy by Paul Adams (Artistic Director, Emerging Artists Theatre), and production voice-overs by Allen Warnock (The Knick/Cinemax).

Performances take place at The Celebration Of Whimsy, 21-A Clinton Street (between Houston & Stanton). Subways: F to Delancey, J/M/Z to Essex.
