PLANET CONNECTIONS THEATRE FESTIVITY 2017: 40 Plays in 28 Days honoring 31 Charities ... ARE YOU CONNECTED?

Planet Connections changes the landscape of New York theatre this year.

The award-winning Planet Connections Theatre Festivity runs June 12 - July 9, 2017 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, NYC. WWW.PLANETCONNECTIONS.ORG

Planet Connections' artists use their work to shed light on causes that matter and inspire audiences to get involved. PCTF's artists raise awareness for an organization or topic of their own selection. Furthering its message, PCTF is the country's first eco-friendly arts festivity sporting "green" marketing and promotional materials.

The relationships formed during the festivity allow our artists to find new audiences and forge new partnerships, turning PCTF artists into leaders and inspirations within the industry.

Since its inception, Planet Connections has presented more than 250 Full Theater Productions, nearly 100 Staged Readings, and has made a difference to more than 300 charities.

Devised collaboratively by Co-Op Theatre East ensemble members Tyrus Holden, Ashley Marinaccio, and Michael Rehse, through Swartz's own writings, Building A Real Boy is a multimedia theatrical telling of the life and work of computer activist Aaron Swartz who died tragically at the age of 26 while facing forty years in prison for downloading academic journals. Building A Real Boy sheds light on critical issues surrounding freedom of information, and internet privacy, in addition to the power of youth in fighting oppressive political systems. Tonight is the night of their induction into the Camp Cortland staff as full-time counselors, but an emergency on the other side of camp as well as a persistently pestering young camper might throw that plan off its tracks.
