The PIT (The Peoples Improv Theater) partners with the Atlas Circus Company to bring circus arts into their theater. They will present a redeveloped version of, Atlas Circus Company's, The Optimist?. A unique and topical narrative told through high-flying acrobatic feats, dancing, and magic, the production of The Optimist? will play February 20th through March 31st - at The PIT (123 E 24th St). Told through movement, theater, and circus skills, The Optimist ?is the tale of a starving artist; living and breathing for a craft that can truly change the world. The path of the optimist is one through an ever changing, dark and uncertain universe full of pitfalls and heartache yet illuminated by the sheer and unwavering forces of hope and effervescence. This production takes audience into a world not unlike their own to bring forth childlike wonder, to appreciate those who work so diligently to reach even the smallest stages and to peer into the small yet powerful elements that connect us.
Through technical training, embodied practice, and collaborative performance, Atlas Circus Company returns to New York with their new rendition of, The Optimist?, at The PIT. Created by Noah Dach, Tommy McCarthy, and Henry Evans, The Optimist features performances by Ara Kocharyan, Oliver Donaldson, Patrick Caldwell, Courtney Imken, Ayla Weisz, and Jackson Bell. Stage Managed by Cody Johnson, lights and scenic design by Brian Pacelli, and costumes by Rebecca Bitondo. The PIT theater is welcoming circus arts into their ever growing program of comedy, theater, and arts. The PIT is located at 123 E 24th St (b/t Park & Lex), in Manhattan's Flatiron district.

Co-founded by Noah Dach, Henry Evans, Tommy McCarthy, and Cody Johnson, Atlas Circus Company ?seeks to create a new kind of circus based on narrative that embodies the complexity of the human experience, combining elements of dance, theatre, and circus techniques.
