The brand new Broadway-bound revival of Stephen Schwartz's PIPPIN is heading to the recording studio if a new posting on the production's official Facebook page is accurate.

The ad proclaims, "Have 10 friends like this page to be entered to win access to PIPPIN's Broadway Cast Album recording session!"

So, if this information is indeed correct, it seems safe to advise PIPPIN fans to start Liking that Facebook page - and getting friends to Like it, too!

The 2013 revival cast album recording has yet to be officially confirmed, but it certainly seems more than merely likely to happen at this point given this exciting new announcement.

PIPPIN features a score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. The musical previously ran for nearly 2000 performances on Broadway in its original production in the 1970s, directed by legendary choreographer/director Bob Fosse.

Lauded HAIR revival helmer Diane Paulus has directed this American Repertory Theatre production of the Charlemagne-centric musical which will be transferring to Broadway in a few short weeks, starring Matthew James Thomas in the title role, along with Leading Player Patina Miller and a starry cast that also includes Andrea Martin, Terrence Mann and Charlotte D'Amboise.

The revival of PIPPIN is scheduled to open March 23 at the Music Box Theatre.
