Three-time Tony and recent Oscar-winner Mark Rylance recently wrapped up his St. Ann's Warehouse run of NICE FISH, but his regard for seaside swimmers obviously goes beyond the boundaries of the stage.
He's one of the British stars who have posed nude for Fishlove, an activist organization dedicated to raising awareness of the unsustainable fishing practices that are destroying the earth's marine ecosystem.
The models aren't completely nude, however. Each is partnered with a dead fish, sometimes covering up the intimate places.
The Fishlove photographs below of Rylance, Emma Thompson and husband Greg Wise, and Miriam Margolyes, star of BBC's "The Real Marigold Hotel," were commissioned by Covent Garden seafood restaurant J Sheekey Oyster Bar.
Tim Hughes, chef director for Caprice Holdings which owns the restaurant, says, "We are passionate about marine conservation, and make sure that the suppliers and fishermen we work with are as committed to fish sustainability as we are."
