Oscar and Emmy winner Sally Field may not be especially known for her stage work, with her sole Broadway credit being as a replacement in Edward Albee's THE GOAT, OR WHO IS SYLVIA?, but later this season she'll be tackling the demanding role of Amanda Wingfield in the Tennessee Williams classic, THE GLASS MENAGERIE. Joe Mantello will be joining her on stage in the Sam Gold-directed production.
From the expression on her face it looks like THE COLOR PURPLE's Joaquina Kalukango would be thrilled to see the television and screen star on stage. A Theatre World Award winner for her performance in HURT VILLAGE, Kalukango is melting audience hearts with her lovely performance as Nettie, the loyal younger sister to Cynthia Erivo's Celie.
After originating the role of Nala in THE LION KING and then winning a Tony for her starring role in AIDA, Heather Headley makes her long-awaited return to the Broadway musical stage as Shug Avery. She too is delighted to have a backstage visit.
