Others Like Us Launches Next Story T-Shirt Featuring Art Rendering of Homeless Teen

SEATTLE, WA - Others Like Us (OLU) will launch its next "story" t-shirt featuring an art rendering of Falon, a young homeless girl. This is the first time OLU will feature a female on a t-shirt. The rendering of Falon was drawn by a Seattle artist named Sherise Mckinney, who experienced homelessness as a child with her mother. When she learned of the mission of OLU, she got excited and decided to reach out and offer her artwork.

Falon is the next face of OLU. She dreams of being a singer. At age 14, just a freshman in high school, Falon found herself homeless. She started moving from couch to couch and living in shelters. "I'm sad because I can't be who I am and do music. I don't have direction and opportunity in my life right now. I'm just floating. I feel lost and I'm treated like the lowest." Two years ago, Falon tried out for the "Seattle's Got Talent" high school competition and won for her singing talent! Now 19, she sleeps on the couch of a co-worker. When she's not working, she spends her time in the studio practicing as much as she can. "I've always wanted to be a singer and perform. I plan to put all the experiences of my life into my music."
