Brad Oscar and Hunter Foster will return to the roles of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom in The Producers, beginning Tuesday, July 5, 2005.

Brad Oscar, who recently wrapped his smash run as Max in the Olivier Award-winning West End production, played Max for more than a year on Broadway after having created the role of Franz Liebkind (for which he received a 2001 Tony Award nomination). He was an original cast member of Jekyll & Hyde and also performed in the show's national tour. He made his Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love and later toured with the show as well. From 1992 to 1994 he played-many characters in Forbidden Broadway, both Off-Broadway and in Los Angeles. Other credits include the Encores! production of Do Re Mi and Santa in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Los Angeles and Branson.

Hunter Foster, who played Leo Bloom in 2004 and recently appeared in the off-Broadway hit Modern Orthodox, received 2004 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for Best Actor in a Musical for the role of Seymour in the Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. He originated the role of Bobby Strong in the Broadway and Off-Broadway companies of Urinetown (OCC and Lucille Lortel Award nominations).  Other Broadway credits include Grease, Footloose, Les Misérables and Alan Menken's King David.  His national tours include playing Rum Tum Tugger in Cats and understudying and performing the title role in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Martin Guerre. He wrote the books to the musicals Summer of '42, and the upcoming Bonnie and Clyde.

The Producers opened on Broadway on Thursday, April 19, 2001 (previews began March 21, 2001).   Currently in its fourth smash year at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44 Street), The Producers won the 2001 Tony for Best Musical, and is the recipient of the most Tony Awards in theater history. Based on  Brooks' Academy Award-winning 1968 film of the same name, the show tells the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer, Max Bialystock, and Leo Bloom, a mousy accountant, who hatch a scam of putting up a flop Broadway musical and running off with the money they made. Their "sure-fire" theatrical fiasco?  . . . None other than the musical Springtime for Hitler.

The Producers also stars Tony Award winner Jonathan Freeman (Roger DeBris), John Treacy Eagan (Franz Liebkind), Brooks Ashmanskas (Carmen Ghia) and Angie Schworer (Ulla).  It features a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman, with set design by Robin Wagner, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, and sound design by Steve Kennedy. The musical is produced by Rocco Landesman, Clear Channel Entertainment, The Frankel · Baruch · Viertel · Routh Group, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Rick Steiner, Robert F.X. Sillerman and Mel Brooks, in association with James D. Stern and Douglas Meyer and by special arrangement with StudioCanal.

The show's playing schedule is Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., Wednesday & Saturday matinees at 2 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
