The New School presents its 2015 spring semester public programming in the Performing Arts. Since its founding in 1919, The New School has been a fixture in New York City's performing arts scene, showcasing work in music, drama, and dance by its talented students, visiting scholars, and faculty.

Highlights include:

Newman and Oltman Guitar Duo. The Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo, critically acclaimed Mannes Ensemble-in-Residence, presents an annual recital and master class at Mannes College, The New School for Music. February 8, 7:30 p.m. at Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street, New York NY 10024.

Orion String Quartet 3. The Orion String Quartet, Mannes Ensemble-in-Residence and one of the most sought-after ensembles in the United States, offers four free concerts a year at Mannes, The New School for Music. The program for this concert will be announced a week before the performance. February 12, 8:00 p.m. at Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street, New York NY 10024.

Mannes Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall Spring Concert. Mannes Orchestra plays at Alice Tully Hall as part of its exciting 2014/2015 season schedule. The program for this concert will include Benjamin Britten's Les Illuminations with soprano Mizuho Takeshita (2014 Mannes Concerto Competition winner); Arvo Pärt's Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten; Mannes Composer-in-Residence Aaron Jay Kernis's Whisper, Echo, A Cry; and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7.February 19, 7:30 p.m. Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, 65th Street and Broadway, New York, NY 10024

MACE - (Mannes American Composers Ensemble) Concert 2. MACE is a large ensemble that focuses on the music of living American composers, including iconic masters and up-and-coming new voices. Program TBA. March 19, 7:30 p.m. at Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street, New York NY 10024.

Orion String Quartet 4. The Orion String Quartet, Mannes Ensemble-in-Residence and one of the most sought-after ensembles in the United States, offers four free concerts a year at Mannes, The New School for Music. Evening of Song Spring Concert. The collaborative piano department at Mannes, The New School for Music presents a performance of art songs featuring graduate pianists and singers from its critically acclaimed voice department. March 24, 8:00 p.m. at Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street, New York NY 10024.

Mannes in Unison Spring Concert. Mannes in Unison is an opportunity for Mannes College, The New School for Music students, faculty, and alumni to perform together. This program will include Janacek's Pohdadka and String Quartet No. 2; and Dvorak's Slavonic Dances and Piano Quartet in E-flat. May 7, 8:00 p.m. at Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85thStreet, New York NY 10024.

Lang Spring Dance Production. Students from Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Arts, will perform a selection of original dance works by student and guest choreographers. May 8, 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. New York Live Arts, 219 W 19th Street, New York, NY 10011.

The Mannes Opera Spring Production (Evening) The critically acclaimed Mannes Opera Young Artists present a complete, fully staged performance of Jonathan Dove's Flight, in collaboration with the Mannes Orchestra and Parsons, The New School for Design. May 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater - John Jay College, 525 West 59th Street, New York, NY, 10019.

A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. The New School for Drama Classics Studio presents A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, directed by Casey Biggs, with choreography by Shannon Stowe. Faculty Recital - Thomas Sauer, Piano. Thomas Sauer, Assistant Professor at Mannes, the New School for Music, performs as part of a series of faculty recitals celebrating the acclaimed musicians teaching at this leading New York conservatory. Mannes Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Mannes Orchestra joins the New York Choral Society for a performance of Adams'sOn the Transmigration of Soulsand Hindemith'sWhen Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd. April 8, 7:30 p.m. at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019.
