Tony and SAG Award winner Jason Alexander, who starred in the original Broadway cast of Merrily We Roll Along, will participate in a Q&A at one of the first Los Angeles public screenings of the new documentary, Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened - a thrilling, behind-the-scenes look into the 'then' and 'now' of perhaps Stephen Sondheim's most beloved work, Merrily We Roll Along.
Mr. Alexander, who appears in the film as part of a series of candid interviews with original company members, will sit for a moderated Q&A directly following the 7:00PM screening of the film tonight, November 25, at Laemmle Royal (11523 Santa Monica Blvd) in West LA. Only ticket holders to the film will be admitted for the Q&A. Mr. Alexander will also introduce the film at the 9:45PM showing the same night. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
The Los Angeles premiere of Best Worst Thing comes just one week after the impressive box office debut of the film in New York City, where it scored on just two screens with strong ticket sales at both NYC locations: Film Society of Lincoln Center's Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center as well as the IFC Center. It ended the weekend as the 'per screen' #1 documentary at the box office. The film's strongest day of sales was Sunday, indicating strong word of mouth from the Friday and Saturday showings. In response to this successful launch, both NYC theaters have extended the film for additional weeks. The film is being distributed theatrically byAbramorama.

Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened is the must-see chronicle of Stephen Sondheim and Harold Prince's much ballyhooed reverse chronology musical Merrily We Roll Along which closed after just 16 performances in 1981 but gradually assumed legend status. This alternately heartbreaking and euphoric film focuses on the original cast members, then and now, and the special place this experience holds in their memories.
