Not for You, a multimedia play about the moment you know someone is "not for you," will have a run at the PIT Loft from Thursday, December 21 - Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 7:00pm. The play is co-directed, co-written, and co-produced by Meg Gillan and Lauren Sagnella who will also be starring in it.
Not for You follows two women in their mid-twenties, Gwen, a realist bed hopper, and Elle, a love lost dreamer, as they get ready for a wedding. The roommates contemplate their personal love lives as they slip into reveries sharing stories of fuckboys, lovers, and boyfriends past. Each story leads up to the "not for you" moment - a realization that this person is not right for them. The play moves through past and present time using elements of music, film, and playful choreography.
The show premiered as part of the Dixon Place Performance Works-in-Progress Series on Saturday, April 22, 2017. The one-night-only show sold out with much encouragement and interest from those who attended. This is Gillan and Sagnella's second collaboration together, after previously working on Jack Feldstein's Three Months with Pook, also presented at Dixon Place.
