One Step Beyond continues in 2010 at the American Museum of Natural History, presented with The Fader magazine. During this ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum's Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. A beer and wine bar keep the party going. Each ticket also includes one pass to the Museum for future use.

The stars of the show will be "The Very Best."  Etienne Tron and Johan Karlberg teamed up with Malawian songsmith Esau Mwamwaya to form a trio collectively known as The Very Best after meeting in a secondhand furniture store in Hackney, London. The Very Best released their debut mix tape in 2008 featuring Esau's unique collaborations with M.I.A., Santogold, Hans Zimmers, and Michael Jackson. These collaborations showcase Esau's beautiful African harmonies sung in his native language of Chichewa. The unique collaborations also feature upcoming talent including Architecture in Helsinki, the Ruby Suns, DJ Mujava, DJ Cleo, Akon, and Vampire Weekend.

Brooklynite Theophilus will also perform. Theophilus, from London, is a rapper, songwriter, and producer. His first mix tape JAM! debuted in 2008, followed by This Charming Mixtape in collaboration with Machine Drum, a confluence of "The Smiths" (This Charming Man) and "Elvis Costello." London is currently at work on his debut album.

The event will take place at the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park West at 79th Street from 9 PM - 1 AM

Admission to One Step Beyond is $20 in advance, $25 at door. Tickets are available for $20 in advance (until 6 pm the day of event) on the Museum's website at amnh.org/osb or by calling 212-769-5200, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm.
