On The Square Presents A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, 7/8-18

Award winning theatre company On the Square Productions (a 501(c)3 under Fractured Atlas) presents Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream which will be presented in a private Astoria garden/greenspace located on 44th St between Broadway and 31st Ave in Astoria, NY.

Performances will be held July 8-9th at 7:30pm, July 11th at 7:30pm, July 15-16th at 7:30pm, July 17th at 3pm and 7:30pm, and July 18th at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available for purchase on Brown Paper Tickets for $15. Midsummer will be presented as an Equity Approved Showcase. Michael Swartz (Ingenue: An Original Musical, In Fields Where They Lay) directs and stars.

This production marks the first venture of the company performing in the borough of Queens. Previous credits include America: A Problem Play with the Planet Connections Festival 2009, Quake by Melanie Marnich presented twice as part of the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival in 2008, and at the Red Room earlier that same year. On the Square Productions also has developed an ongoing Developmental Play Reading Series created in 2009 featuring the works of Aaron Wigdor
Levy ( Public Theatre Lab), Stacy Osei-Koffour (TS Eliot Fellowship with the Old Vic), Janusz Glowacki, Paul Cameron Hardy, and Zack Calhoon.

Midsummer is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the rich community of Astoria. By doing so, On the Square Productions hopes to strengthen the theatrical voice of Queens.

Midsummer Night's Dream features the talents of Marnie Schulenberg (As the World Turns- 2010 Daytime Emmy Nominee), Rachel McPhee* (Vieux Carre, The Pearl Theatre, The Flea) and Michael Raver* (Vieux Carre, The Pearl Theatre, Aquila Theater Company ), Zack Calhoon* (In Fields Where They Lay- 2010 ITBA nominee for Oustanding Off Off Broadway Show), Kane Prestenback* (TS Eliot Acting Fellowship at the Old Vic), and Chris White* (The Flea, Gilbert and Sullivan Players at NY City Center).
