It was announced today that the seven original stars of Legally Blonde The Musical, Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods, Christian Borle as Emmett, Orfeh as Paulette, Richard H. Blake as Warner, Kate Shindle as Vivienne, Nikki Snelson as Brooke and Michael Rupert as Professor Callahan, have all extended their contracts through Spring 2008.   The hit musical opened on Broadway at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway, between 46th and 47th Streets) on April 29, 2007 following preview performances that began on April 3, 2007.

Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer.  So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Also featured in the cast are: Haven Burton, Tracy Jai Edwards, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Natalie Joy Johnson, Nathan Balser, April Berry, Paul Canaan, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Cara Cooper, Beth Curry, Amber Efé, Gaelen Gilliland, Jason Gillman, Becky Gulsvig, Rod Harrelson, Manuel Herrera, Andy Karl, Nick Kenkel, Michelle Kittrell, Rusty Mowery, Kevin Pariseau, Matthew Risch, Bryce Ryness, Kate Wetherhead.

At the helm of the creative team of Legally Blonde The Musical is Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, who makes his Broadway directorial debut and also choreographs. Music and lyrics are by both Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and the book is by Heather Hach.  James Sampliner serves as music director.   The production features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller, orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.

Legally Blonde The Musical earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations and a 2007 Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical.

In an unprecedented partnership, on October 13, 2007, MTV premiered Legally Blonde The Musical in its entirety.   The special included a behind-the-scenes look at the musical and a Pink Carpet extravaganza hosted by the cast of "The Hills" live from the Palace Theatre.
