Omaha Fashion Week Wrapping Up

Omaha Fashion Week kicked off its eighth fall fashion season and has grown to be come the fifth largest fashion week in the country in terms of how many designers participate and number of attendees. Omaha Fashion Week will continue through the week, leading up the Saturday Night Finale, August 23rd, in the tents at the Capitol District on 12th and Davenport.

Last night the runway featured debut S/S 2015 collections from Avant Garde designers: Angela Balderson for Get Plastered!; Kristen Van Hessche; Claire Landolt; Michelle Kleineweber for Little Shell Design; Dan Richters and a special style performance by Luis Alvarez & The Aquage Salon Artistic Team! Jennifer Pool also presented an off-site independent designer show, "La Foret Des Reves," which translates to a forest of dreams.

Angela Balderson for Get Plastered! created a collection featuring jungle, ocean and animal elements. Kristen Van Hessche's hand-painted Japanese kimonos were inspired by a story of a fox. Claire Landolt blends the beautiful and the grotesque in her sleek, texturized collection, featuring fringe leather and cast iron chicken legs. Michelle Kleineweber for Little Shell Design told the story of traditional anniversary gifts through her collection. Dan Richters' collection 'Lore' was inspired by folklore and mythology, incorporating hand made materials modeled to shape. Jennifer Pool, "La Foret Des Reves," combined fashion and live performance to unfold the story of a girl lost in the forest.

Tonight's showcase will debut brand new spring/summer 2015 collections from Ready To Wear designers featuring looks from; Erica Cardenas & Bryan Frost for Wallflower; Michelle Dunn; Jane Round; Andrea Sanderlin for Younkers/Ruff Hewn - GREY; Quinton Lovelace; Juantiesha Christian by SuShe by J. Tracy and on platforms: Juan Mora-amaral and Bre Pittman; Hannah Caroline Couture Menswear
