Olivier Winner Zrinka Cvitesic to Perform in NYC Next Month

Paradise Glen Productions announced today they will present A Balkan American Musical Celebration at the East Village music venue DROM on Monday, February 22 from 6-9pm. A dynamic fusion of Balkan and American jazz & blues, mixed with traditional Sevdah-style Bosniak singing, this one-night only musical event features performances by Olivier Award-winning Croatian actress Zrinka Cvitesic, acclaimed jazz vocalist Sasha Dobson, noted jazz pianist & composer Frank Owens and gypsy punk rockers Bad Buka, and emceed by actor Tony Naumovski.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the indie feature film Lucky Accident Crash - a romantic road movie, inspired by writer/director Christopher Peditto's (Light and the Sufferer, starring Paul Dano) travels. Produced by Peditto, Peter Almond (Thirteen Days) and Elliot Fox, co-produced by Lanie Zipoy and Phil Newsom, and starring Zrinka Cviteši? as "Tara", the story follows an American tourist and Montenegrin tour guide who, after a chance meeting, go on a soul searching road trip through the Balkans.

Says star Zrinka Cviteši?: "In this crazy world we're living there is a lack of two things: one human being helping another for no reason, just because they can; and a lack of communication, because we listen to reply, not to understand. Lucky Accident Crash has both. Wrapped up in a unique strength, passion and 'survival' humor of its people, combined with American openness to life, it has everything I love and believe in."

"In 2012, I took a trip with a stranger who changed my life," says filmmaker Christopher Peditto. "Her name was Sevda, like the hauntingly beautiful singing style, Sevdahlinka. Lucky Accident Crash is my love letter to the magical land and spirited people she introduced me to. A Balkan American Musical Celebration brings together many of the extraordinary talents contributing to the making of this film."

Lucky Accident Crash will shoot Summer 2016 in Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and New York City.
