Gaff Tape Productions will present the New York City premiere of Karen Wheeling-Reynolds' The Scarlett O'Hara Complex. Performances will begin on Thursday, November 30th and will be at The Clurman Theatre, Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues.
The production is presented in partnership with The Wilkes Playmakers of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and in collaboration with the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
"Has Jenny McKenzie gone mad? Is she another husband killer like Blanche Taylor Moore or Clara Harris? Her life-long friends, Libby, Mary Frances, and Cat, just aren't sure. All destined to live the life of the upper-crust southern woman in a small town in North Carolina, they understand how she feels, having caught her husband, Earl, cheating - again. But, in a world where women are expected to keep quiet and serve their husbands and their families no matter the circumstance, divorce is simply not an option. Will she just put it all behind her and move forward? Not likely, but how far will she go?," state press materials.
"The second play written by Karen Wheeling-Reynolds, The Scarlett O'Hara Complex takes a humorous slant on the subject of infidelity, the plight of the 'proper' Southern woman, and 'black widow' murder in the South." David Reynolds directs.
