Bingo, a new interactive musical comedy based around the classic game, will  begin performances off-Broadway at The Theatre at St. Luke's (308 West 46th Street) on Friday, October 21st, with opening night set for Monday, November 7th.

Presented by Aruba Productions and Buddy & Sally Productions, and directed by Thomas Caruso (resident director of Mamma Mia!, assistant director of Bombay Dreams), the show will feature a book by Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid (both of the Jefferson Award-winning musical "VICES"), and lyrics and music by Heitzman, Reid and David Holcenberg (musical director and conductor of Broadway's Mamma Mia!).  Bingo had its world premiere production in 2001 at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, and was subsequently produced at the Ordway Center of the Performing Arts in Minnesota in 2001 and the Adirondack Theatre Festival in 2003.

"In this environmental musical comedy, the audience gets to join in the Bingo game at Hamerin County's St. Luke's Church basement, where they will meet, among others, Vern, Honey and Patsy:  three pals that have driven through Hurricane Dora in the name of their weekly obsession.  In between the number calling, strange rituals and fierce competitions, love blossoms and estranged friends reunite, sending everyone home a winner," according to production notes.

While the cast of Bingo has not yet been announced, its design team will include Eric Renschler (sets), Carol Brys (costumes), John Viesta (lighting) and Lewis Mead (sound).  Steve Bishop will provide the show's orchestrations.

Bingo will play Monday evenings at 8 p.m.; Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. Wednesday matinees at 2:00 p.m., Friday evenings at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Dark on Wednesday and Thursday evenings)

Tickets for Bingo are $60.00 and will be available via Telecharge.com (212-239-6200).  For more information, please visit www.bingothemusical.com.
