The stunning new album "The Hour Before" from New York City-based Elaine Romanelli was released earlier this month and took center stage at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 last weekend on April 25. Listen to the featured track '25' below!

Based in Harlem, Romanelli is a nationally touring independent singer, songwriter, pianist and guitar player. Her shows are augmented by lectures and workshops in which she shares her expertise in songwriting, performing, and music business logistics. Elaine also writes and records for other indie artists, most recently for 'Broken Film' (Grammy-nominated artist SONiA/Disappear Fear).

Before her incarnation as a singer/songwriter, Elaine lived some exciting other lives. She acted, sang, and danced for a year in a 4-person musical revue; helped develop a trunk show for the San Francisco Opera; worked with Tony Kushner on an Off-Broadway world premiere; and was, briefly, a reality TV star (on TLC's What Not to Wear). She holds a B.A. in music from Stanford University.
