BroadwayWorld.com is sad to report the death of Jennifer Rae Beck after a recurring and long-term battle with breast cancer at 44. The actress, mother and business owner was a longtime friend of the site's, having performed in Standing Ovations IV, BroadwayWorld.com's sold-out benefit concert.
She's most known for playing June in the 1993 film version of GYPSY starring Bette Midler. She also appeared as Eponine in the Third National Touring Company of LES MISERABLES, as well as the Asian premiere and Los Angeles production of the show. Other credits include the national tour revival of EVITA as Peron's Mistress, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF on Broadway along with TV appearances in shows including LAW AND ORDER, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and CONVICTION.
In 2007, she opened Chalk Farm Home (online at http://chalkfarmhome.com), a vintage store in New Jersey, and followed that with a move to LA where she opened an online business, blog and Etsy store under the same name.
She resided in Westlake Village, California and leaves behind a husband and 3 children. Our condolences go out to her friends, family and colleagues.
