The second act of Israel Horovitz's Off-Broadway comedy Out of the Mouths of Babes was cancelled last night, after stage and screen legend Estelle Parsons was rushed to a hospital during intermission.
Fortunately, the 88-year-old actress is recovering, having suffered a case of summertime dehydration.
The play's press office released the following statement: "Ms. Parsons, who is currently starring in Cherry Lane Theatre's hit Off-Broadway comedy Out of the Mouths of Babes, is fine following a brief visit to the hospital last night. Due to a two-show day during extremely warm weather she was treated for dehydration. Ms. Parsons is at home feeling better but this evening's performance will be canceled to ensure a full recovery. OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES will resume performances tomorrow, Friday, July 8 at 7pm."
