OPENING NIGHT Premieres At The NY International Fringe Festival Image

OPENING NIGHT is a fast-paced homage to the theater where 8 characters played by 2 actresses experience 1 Broadway premiere very differently. The show opens on twin sisters, Old Hollywood icons Margo and Joan, hitting the stage to perform their one-woman shows. Unbeknownst to them, they are performing these shows together. The fact that they accidentally wrote the same script? Well, that only adds to the pandemonium as the director, stage manager, audience members, and stagehands connect, clash, and scramble to pick up the pieces.

Written and performed by Kristina Grosspietsch and Devin O'Neill, this show straddles the worlds of comedy and theater and celebrates the misfits who feel at home around the stage. OPENING NIGHT shines a light on the intricacies of relationships and human connection through the lens of a Broadway show.

Kristina and Devin are comedy actors and writers based in NYC and are both members of Magnet Theater's NYTimes-reviewed, all-female improv show "The Cast." Kristina is a contributor to Mashable, a Story Pirate, and the founder of the Magnet Theater 10-Minute Play Festival. Devin O'Neill is a regular sketch performer at Upright Citizen's Brigade and the PIT, and the Special Projects Manager at Anomaly. They founded Devin and Kristina Comedy out of a desire to explore the intersection of comedy and theater and to bring humanity to every laugh line.
