November Ends Its Term On Broadway 7/13

The critically acclaimed World Premiere comedy NOVEMBER, by Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet, and starring two-time Tony Award-winner Nathan Lane will play its final performance on Sunday, July 13th, for a final tally of 205 performances and 33 previews.

Under the direction of two-time Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello, the production also stars Tony-nominee and three-time Emmy Award-winner Laurie Metcalf as presidential aide Clarice Bernstein and Dylan Baker as presidential advisor Archer Brown. "Star Trek: Voyager" star Ethan Phillips and Michael Nichols round out the cast.

Set just days before a major presidential election, November involves civil marriages, gambling casinos, lesbians, American Indians, presidential libraries, questionable pardons and campaign contributions.

During its run, November hit a number of important milestones. Firstly, President Charles H.P. Smith not only holds the notable record of being the only fictional president in history to be offered a blog spot on the prestigious Huffington Post, but also the only fictional president EVER to publish a collection of his musings in book form – "Talking Turkey: The Wit and Wisdom of President Charles H.P. Smith*" (*available for sale in the Barrymore Theatre lobby, and coming to a book store near you)

The creative team includes two-time Tony Award-winner Scott Pask (The Coast of Utopia, The Pillowman), eight-time Tony-nominee Paul Gallo (Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street), and Laura Bauer (Talk Radio, Glengarry Glen Ross).

David Mamet is the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Glengarry Glen Ross. His other stage credits include Speed-the-Plow (Tony nom.), The Cryptogram (Pulitzer nom.), America Buffalo (NY Drama Critics Circle Award), Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Romance, Boston Marriage, The Old Neighborhood and the recent adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance. Mamet is also a two-time Academy Award-nominee for The Verdict and Wag the Dog whose other film credits include State and Main, The Winslow Boy, The Spanish Prisoner, Homicide and The Untouchables. He a writer and co-producer for the current CBS hit "The Unit" and the author of numerous novels including The Wicked Son and Bambi vs. Godzilla.

Nathan Lane has received two Tonys, five Drama Desks, and four Outer Critics' Circle Awards for his performances in The Producers, A Funny Thing Happened…, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Guys and Dolls, and The Lisbon Traviata. His other New York stage appearances include Butley, Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Lips Together, Teeth Apart and Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Lane has also been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards (The Producers, The Birdcage) and five Emmys, winning two for his work on the animated series "Timon and Pumbaa" and "Teacher's Pet". November will mark Lane's fourth collaboration with director Joe Mantello, having previously worked together on The Odd Couple, Mizlansky/Zilinsky, and Love! Valour! Compassion! In January 2006, Lane received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Laurie Metcalf received the Outer Critics Circle award, and Tony and Drama Desk award nominations for her performance in November. She also appeared in Balm in Gilead at the Circle Rep for which she received Drama Desk, Obie and Theatre World Awards. An ensemble member at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1976, Metcalf is the recipient of seven Joseph Jefferson Awards and two L.A. Ovation Awards. Metcalf won three Emmy awards for her role as Jackie Harris on "Roseanne." She is nominated again this year for her work on "Desperate Housewives." Her film credits include Internal Affairs, Desperately Seeking Susan, Toy Story, Bulworth, and Leaving Las Vegas.

Dylan Baker recently played the role of Phillip in MTC's staging of Mauritius at the Biltmore Theatre. Baker won the 1989 Theatre World Award for his performance in Evening Standard and subsequently received a 1991 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor for La Bete.  His screen credits range from the acclaimed independent film Happiness to the Spider-Man movies in which he plays Doctor Curt Connors.  He has been a regular on the television series "Feds," "Murder One," "The Pitts," and "Law & Order."
