The Obie Award-winning Soho Rep along with Austin's Physical Plant Theater present the East Coast premiere of Not Clown, which will begins previews for its limited two-week run on March 16 prior to an official press opening of
March 18 at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street).

"In a time when clowns are
tortured and circuses banned, a girl longs for their outlawed life," state press notes. Directed and with a concept by Carlos Treviño and written by Steve Moore , Not Clown is "sublimely ridiculous,
deeply moving, and at the same time a troubling allegory.

The show's cast includes: Robert Deike (as Sheldon), Elizabeth Doss (as Linda), Lee Eddy (as Agnes), Matt Hislope (as Foley), Josh Meyer (as Alfred), Robert Pierson (as Frank), Mark Stewart (as Ingus), and Rommel Sulit (as Sam). The design team for Not Clown includes Natalie George (lighting) and Robert Pierson (sound).

"Under the leadership of Artistic Director Daniel Aukin and Executive Director Alexandra Conley, Soho Rep is dedicated to cultivating and producing new and unconventional plays. Over the last six seasons, Soho Rep productions have garnered five OBIE Awards, most recently for Maria Irene Fornes' Molly's Dream, four Drama Desk Nominations for last season's Frankenstein, and the Oppenheimer Award for last season's Everything Will Be Different."

This limited two-week run of Not Clown will perform March 16 through March 25, Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm, with the added performance of Wednesday, March 22.
