Tony Award-winner Norbert Leo Butz has been cast in a new sitcom pilot for Fox.
In "Playing Chicken," the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels star will play Jake, a conservative who, having been in an accident, is forced to live with his liberal brother Tim.
"Playing Chicken" will be produced by Warner Brothers Television. Sean Anders and John Gilbert Morris created the pilot.
In addition to a Tony Award for his performance in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Butz received a Tony nomination for his performance in Thou Shalt Not. Other Broadway credits include Wicked, in which he created the role of Fiyero, and Rent, in which he played Roger. He was also seen as the Emcee in the national tour of Cabaret, and created the role of Jamie in the original off-Broadway production of The Last Five Years. His film credits include West of Here and Noon Blue Apples, as well as the upcoming Dan in Real Life, co-starring Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche, Dianne Wiest, John Mahoney and Alison Pill.
