NO HOPE Productions proudly presents FLIGHT as part of the 13th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. Written and directed by Tim Aumiller, this two-person play features Todd Lawson and actress Brandy Burre, who played TheresaD'Agostino on the highly acclaimed HBO series THE WIRE.
FLIGHT takes place on a crowded winter night in Chicago's O'Hare Airport, where two strangers - stranded in the departure terminal waiting to hear word on the fate of their travels - are forced to confront not only their own transgressions, but each other's. Performed in real time, the quick-paced back and forth dialogue of the play unpacks how two individuals with disparate backgrounds and widely different perspectives can find comfort in an uncomfortable and stressful situation. More than a journey through a long frustrating night, FLIGHT explores the thin line between refuge and danger when encountering someone for the first time.
This 50-minute play will have six performances at the Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre (located at 38 Commerce Street in the West Village). Performances: Friday, August 14 at 7pm; Tuesday, August 18 at 9:30pm; Wednesday, August 19 at 10:30pm; Thursday, August 20 at 2pm; Saturday, August 22 at 6:15pm; and Thursday, August 27 at 5:15pm.
NO HOPE Productions was started by Aumiller and collaborator Scott Schneider in the fall of 2003 with their darkly comic musical DOSE! -produced at the East Village's Kraine Theatre. Since, they have presented several evenings of new musical work including Mischief, The Road to Nowhere, Still In Love, and Breaking the Habit at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. In addition, they produced Angel/Buddy for Fringe 2007 with NO HOPE Resident Producer James McNeel, who joins the team again for FLIGHT. For more information please visit:
