New York City's first ever BroadwayCon is underway this weekend, and one of the first -- and most anticipated events -- was tonight's RENT 20th anniversary reunion panel.

In attendance were stars Anthony Rapp (Mark), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Mimi), Rodney Hicks (Benjamin Coffin III), Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel), the musical's original casting director Bernard Telsey, and more. Jesse L. Martin (Collins) even made an appearance via FaceTime!

The resounding take-away from tonight's emotional discussion is that there really is "no day but today." Scroll down for ten of the top quotes from the event!

1. "You guys grew up in a world with RENT. There was, in fact, a world before RENT existed." - Anthony Rapp

2. "One night when Jonathan was [at Friends in Deed], a young man raised his hand and said, 'I don't really have a problem with dying. But will I lose my dignity?' And Jonathan was there, and that was the beginning." - Cynthia O'Neal, Founder of Friends in Deed

3. "This room, here, everyone knows what RENT is. Back then nobody knew what RENT was, and nobody wanted to do it." - Daphne Rubin-Vega

4. "I heard this music and I realized almost instantly that it was bigger than me and that it was something important." - Wilson Jermaine Heredia

5. "It may be hard to believe...but the legend is real." - Anthony Rapp

6. "You're seeing it with HAMILTON, but the huge difference is that Lin-Manuel Miranda is alive for it, and Jonathan wasn't. So everything that was happening for us was amazing and terrible...We didn't have time to really mourn or grieve. We were in a rocket ship. And then the sadness turned into joy." - Anthony Rapp

7. "'Before RENT musical theatre didn't talk to me,' Jonathan Larson said, 'Just make me cry.'" - Daphne Rubin-Vega

8. "The only way to go is forward, one foot in front of the other, and be grateful." - Rodney Hicks

9. "He knew exactly what he had. He was confident and terrified and he was extremely proud of every one of you." - Julie Larson McCollum, Jonathan Larson's sister

10. "We could afford to be brave because we had each other." - Daphne Rubin-Vega
