After a successful Hollywood run, Nicole Blaine's one-woman show Pipe Dreams will play the New York International Fringe Festival from August 12th to 28th at The Flea Theatre (41 White Street between Broadway and Church).

Presented by
717 Productions, and co-written and directed by Mickey Blaine, Pipe Dreams received a 6-week sold-out run at the Hudson Guild Theatre after touring drug and alcohol rehab centers in the Los Angeles area.  The free tours were launched by Blaine with the hope that its that "its positive message and optimistic stance would enlighten the lives of those who truly needed it, or if nothing else, spread happiness through comic relief," as a press article puts it.

"When Nicole Blaine was younger, she was the unlikely resident of a crack house, as well as a caretaker to her younger brother due to her mother's addiction.  With very little to smile about, she often found solace in the powerhouse comedy line-up of NBC Thursdays.  These were her only 'Friends' and Jennifer Aniston was her BFF.  Flash forward years later and Blaine is a struggling Hollywood actress trying to make inroads when she happens upon Aniston in real life.  In the tampon aisle at Rite-Aid Aniston tells her the best way to get noticed is to do a one-person show.  Blaine agreed and decided to retell the hard truth of her childhood.  Hilarity ensued!"

Blaine's work as an actress has been recognized by the American College Theatre Festival Awards. Her producing credits include the original play Out of the Cubicle and the feature film Qwickie All Night, written by Mickey Blaine and currently in development with Chanticleer Productions, with three-time Oscar-winner Jana Memel attached as producer.

Pipe Dreams' performance schedule has not yet been announced.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling 1.888.FRINGENYC or by going to www.fringenyc.org.
