According to The Hollywood Reporter, stage, screen and stand-up star Nick Offerman has signed on for THE FOUNDER, which tells the story of McDonald's and how the company grew into a fast food giant.

Offerman will star opposite Michael Keaton (as Ray Kroc) and Laura Dern (Kroc's wife).

THE FOUNDER, helmed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegel, chronicles "how Ray Kroc (Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire."

Offerman will portray 'Dick McDonald', described as "a control freak who gave in to pressure from his brother to let Kroc have more control of the business, only to realize too late he was being pushed out."

Offerman is well known for his role as 'Ron Swanson' on NBC's PARKS AND RECREATION, which recently wrapped its final season. Among his upcoming projects are A WALK IN THE WOODS, ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL, WELCOME TO HAPPINESS and season two of the TV series FARGO. His past film credits include WE'RE THE MILLERS and 21 JUMP STREET. Offerman recently appeared off-Broadway opposite his wife Megan Mullally in ANNAPURNA -- the couple's live show SUMMER OF 69 is now on tour.

THE FOUNDER will hit theaters on November 25, 2016.
