On November 21, 22, 23, 2013 at 7:30pm, at The David Koch Theater, British conductor and early music specialist Nicholas McGegan leads Handel's L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato. Mark Morris' luminous L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, set to Handel's glorious oratorio, is one of the most beloved dance works of our time. The Mark Morris Dance Group will be joined by the MMDG Music Ensemble, vocal soloists Dominique Labelle, soprano; Yulia Van Doren, soprano; John McVeigh, tenor; Douglas Williams, bass-baritone and the Riverside Choral Society Chamber Singers, PatRick Gardner, director, all led byconductor Nicholas McGegan, for this engagement. The White Light Festival performances mark the 25th anniversary of L'Allegro's premiere at Brussels' Théâtre de la Monnaie. The final performance, on November 23, which also closes the Festival, takes place 25 years to the day of its first performance in 1988.
