NewFilmmakers is a unique Screening Series that gives new filmmakers the opportunity to screen their films in New York, Los Angeles, and Online. On Wednesday, June 25, NewFilmmakers presents a Documentary Program, a College Screening Program featuring films from Columbia University, and the new Feature FOLIE A TRIOS.

6:00 PM Documentary Series

Monica Alba & Ben Teitelbaum HOME COURT (2013, 40 minutes)

In this exploration of the power of sports, foreigners from five continents find an unlikely family in New York City through an Olympic sport that few people in the U.S. know: team handball. The squad seeks to defend its national title and cement its reputation as the 'world's handball club,' a group of friends that speak a common language on and off the court. Meanwhile, the only homegrown American strives to make Team USA and represent his country in international competition.

19-year-old Natalie is confined to her room because of her crippling OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). She spends her days looking out the window at Guy, a young man she sees in the park every day, fantasizing of a romantic relationship with him. 20-year-old Guy is planning to commit suicide, yet one thing stands in his way - he wants to lose his virginity before he dies. Hopelessly ridden with social anxiety, he turns to Pixie, a young prostitute with a good heart and a strange eating disorder. When fate conspires the three to meet on the day of Natalie's birthday, events spiral into one life-changing night of adventure, horror, madness and passion.
