On Wednesday, April 23rd, NewFilmmakers presents the Documentary THE SUN PALACE, a Short Film Program, and the new Feature MY FRIENDS.

6:00 PM Special Program

Philip Blackburn THE SUN PALACE (2012, 63 minutes, video): An epic visual and musical homage to the era, not too long ago, when tuberculosis consumed the nation. 80% of the populace had been infected and were one bloody cough away from a desperate prognosis. X-Rays were brand new. Antibiotics were four decades in the future.

7:15 PM Short Film Program

Jessica Kaye ANGEL (2013, 14 minutes): Three teenage girls cope with the recent death of a mutual friend during a childhood game that goes awry.

A R Ogbu. THE NECKLACE (2013, 16 minutes): A woman's obsession with a special necklace leads to an unexpected surprise.

Yael Bridge THE HABITAT GAME (2013, 17 minutes): The Habitat Game*, a film by Yael Bridge, introduces the viewer to several characters in Florida, each interacting with space and place in a variety of ways.

8:15 PM Feature Presentation

Kreshnik Seseri MY FRIENDS (2013, 140 minutes): Excessive life has no boundaries; stature in life, reality and actuality catches up with everyone. One will find out whom his true family and friends are when tested. When goings get tough, is time to be a man. Where do your loyalties lie? 'My Friends' ; on opposite sides of the law; will attempt to maintain their love, relationship, and RESPECT!

NewFilmmakers screens at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street. NewFilmmakers LA screens at the AT&T Center, 1139 S Hill Street, and has become a leadingshowcase for new films in Hollywood. Many features screened at NewFilmmakers are now available on NewFilmmakers Online.

New York Admission is $6 for the whole evening and tickets are available at the Anthology Box Office the night of screening.
