NewFilmmakers is a unique Screening Series now in its eighteenth year that gives new filmmakers the opportunity to screen their films in New York Los Angeles, and Online.
On Monday, April 25th, NewFilmmakers begins three days of screenings at Anthology Film Archives in New York. Films will include art and experimental work, science fictions films, and over thirty independent films.

This a the story of Jackson Pollock's masterpiece that changed the face of American Modern Art forever. This documentary follows the commission by Peggy Guggenheim of a large painting for her townhouse by an unknown Jackson Pollock. The paintings journey to a small mid-western college town followed by controversy of those who fought to keep the painting and those who wanted to sell it.

Winter Has No Sun is ultimately a film about change. The story follows two lifelong friends; Jake & Ted and their choices that lead their lives to spiral out of control. Jake is a kindhearted guy that plays it safe in life; especially with the girl he's crazy for; Tori. When things don't go as planned for the two of them, Jake loses sight of his true character and seeks out the dangers and thrills that he thinks he's been lacking.

NewFilmmakers screens at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street. Tickets are $7 and are good for the whole night and go on sale at 5:30PM the night of performance at the Anthology Box Office. There is no advanced or online sales.
NewFilmmakers LA screens at the AT&T Center, 1139 S Hill Street, and has become a leading showcase for new films in Hollywood. Many features screened at NewFilmmakers are now available on NewFilmmakers Online.
