On May 26 at 8:30pm, NewFilmakers will present 'Mow Crew', a film directed by Taylor Toole.
'Mow Crew' is about Eric Campbell, who has to make it through his last day of work as a landscaper on Martha's Vineyard before he can move with his girlfriend to Los Angeles. However, with a rival landscaping crew, a disaster prone co-worker, and the reemergence of an ex-girlfriend, this isn't as easy as it sounds. In addition, he isn't sure that he wants to leave. His girlfriend Sage, on the other hand, cannot wait to leave the home that she feels trapped in. In addition to discovering her boyfriend/bandmate might bail on her, she also has to find a way to be comfortable leaving behind her reckless sister and incarcerated father. Faced with an opportunity they never expected, will this young couple pull together and take the chance of leaving behind the life they know, or will they be torn apart by the weight of a decision neither is entirely sure how to handle? David Day, of The Boston Weekly Dig, says, ""A carefully conceived and beautifully shot film, Mow Crew certainly has twists you don't expect."
The film will be shown at Anthology Film Archives (32 Second Avenue at 2nd Street). Admission will be six dollars. For more information about the film, visit www.mowcrew.com
