On Saturday, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, Council Member Brad Lander, Olympic Regional Development Authority President & CEO Ted Blazer and Parks mascot Pearl the Squirrel kicked off a celebration of FREE winter sports and fun in Prospect Park!
"With all the recent snow, Winter Jam NYC is a great way for New Yorkers to enjoy winter in the parks in different ways beyond sledding and snowman building," said Commissioner Benepe. "Thanks to our partners at the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), the Prospect Park Alliance, Red Bull and our many sponsors, people of all ages could try snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and skiing in the heart of Brooklyn."Winter Jam NYC brings the ski slopes to the city with a Lake Placid Snow Field for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. All equipment is provided, but participants were welcome to bring their own sleds, skis and snowboards!Videos
