Twice a year, New Yorkers have the chance to experience the city's finest restaurants for a fraction of what they might usually spend. New York City Restaurant Week began as a lunch-only promational event in 1992. Since then it has grown to incorporate almost 300 restaurants, most of which feature the same Restaurant Week deal: $24.07 for a three course lunch, and $35 for dinner. Prices do not include drinks, taxes, and tips.
The two-week event, which is being held through February 7th, also features a Restaurant Week Truck, which will be driving around the city and selling soup from participating restaurants for $6 a serving- $1 of which will be donated to relief efforts in Haiti. To find out where the truck is, follow it on Twitter at http://twitter.com/NYCGO.
A full list of participating restaurants can be found at www.nycgo.com/restaurantweek . To make reservations at participating restaurants, visit www.opentable.com. Popular restaurants book quickly during this event, so the sooner the better.
