The New York Philharmonic presents WUNDERLAND Concert & After-Party, an evening of fairy tales and folklore with the music of Sibelius and Mahler, Saturday, May 14, 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.
The concert features John Storgårds leading the Philharmonic in selections from Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn, with mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung as soloist; Sibelius's Symphony No. 2; and Schumann's Genoveva Overture.
After
the concert, WUNDERLAND ticket-holders will attend an exclusive party on the Grand Promenade featuring a special DJ set by Assistant Principal Timpani Kyle Zerna, open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and a GIF photo booth. The after-party will be hosted by Philharmonic hornist Leelanee Sterrett and Associate Principal Trombone Colin Williams.
WUNDERLAND, for those 35 years old and under, follows WHEN IN ROME in February 2016, which included the Philharmonic program featuring Respighi's Roman Trilogy followed by an after-party.
