New York Philharmonic Sets 2014-15 Season of Ensembles at Merkin Concert Hall

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles chamber music series will feature musicians from the Orchestra in a series of six concerts at Merkin Concert Hall during the 2014-15 season.

The series, which allows audiences to experience the artistry of the Philharmonic's virtuosos in an intimate setting, will feature various ensemble configurations performing repertoire both familiar and unexpected, including works by Andy Akiho, Barto?k, Beethoven, Dvor?a?k, Penderecki, Respighi, Sibelius, and more.

The 2014-15 New York Philharmonic Ensembles series will begin on October 19, featuring works by Beethoven, Glie?re, Barto?k, and Thuille, and will continue on November 23, January 18, February 15, March 15, and June 7 -- all on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.

Since 1984 the Philharmonic Ensembles series has presented diverse programming of both classical masterpieces and modern compositions. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra's international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours, and at locations throughout New York City.
